New team, New Objectives

The pool i got at the begining was an average pool at best with a couple of hidden gems, amoust the rubbish over waged players. I opted for 16 players on 25,850 wage and a average age of 22. Over all my squad was acceptable but not great, and being of a youngish age i am expecting them to lose quite a bit this season.

However on a possitive note, Jesus Guevara (below) seem to be a really good catch. At 21yo, and many of the key stats for a DC, i can see good things to come with this player. Physicaly he is well developed for his age, boosing impressive acceleration, pace and most importantly jumping. His mental stats are just as impresive also, with bravery, determination, work rate and possitioning all above 15, with the bonus of 19 influence will make him my captian for as long as i keep him. The only downside of Guevara is his techincal ability which seem to be lacking one or two key stats, for instance his passing is poor and i like to work the ball from the back, so this could leed to problems. His marking, tackling and heading are all 14+ which is good, however i will be investing in coching skill points to try to improve these stats along with passing.

Along with Guevara, i also have high hopes for 15yo sensation Stefan van Baaren (below). At 15 he has natural raw ablility as a deep-laying playmaker, but like all rough diamonds, he need polishing up to reach his yet unknown potential. With high passing, creativity and technique some of the key stats for any playmaker, the odd for him becoming a star of the future is looking good for this youngster. With poor physicals and some dreadfull mental stats, a huge amount of work will be required by the I R LEGENDS coaching staff to make this player into a star. With waiting for the potential, of van Baaren the intial report should be here in 2 days and will be updated when it arrives, so fingers cross it will be good news.

Coppell Rebirth

After 16 season of coppell, SI decided to reset the GW. This was greeted with mixed reception, many people were annoyed by lack of warning. AS i do feel bad for those with long term plans, this is a beta and should be expected IMO. Personally having just reset at the beginning of season 16 this hasn't really effected me, except for the fact i had managed to get James Vaughan, one of FML legends.

Anyway, the GW was reset at 12.05 am 25/03/10, a day later then what SI had planned, but due to problems with the 'live' GWs coppell would have been shifted to the back of the pile. With the reset the GW becomes a Fantasy GW (naming which i don't really like, i would have preferred Regen), this too was met with some annoyance from a couple of members of coppell who didn't want to take part in a 'fantasy' GW, but a returning star one. Also with the reset members of Horton GW have joined coppell to boost the numbers of the GW and make the beta count two GW's instead of three, this will help to establish a better economy around the GW and hopefully will bring better banter.
